I opened up the buggy and the handle broke so the buggy can not be used I brought it on the 5th September. I had a emergency C-section on the 9th September and my daughter had to have open heart surgery she only come out in November so we have only used it a few months.

Hi, I went to the Smyth's toy superstore in queens park retail park in Preston on the 17 th February and purchased a RC super stunt mini car using a gift card which my son had for Christmas.After putting batteries inside the car worked fine for an hour and then just stopped working, I put the charger cable which came with it into the car body and charged it overnight but still doesn't work.I don't live near a smyths toy superstore nearest one is 20 miles away however I do wish to see if I can get a refund without having to travel by taking it to a store Regards, Amey brooks

Poor knowledge of products

Razer Kaira X Xbox Heard. Well what a pain the service was from Smyths. Required a new set of headphones for my sons pc, he liked the Razer Karia and seen these ones online at smyths. We went to smyths and asked the sales person to have a look at these headphones, even though it states for xbox it also stated on the box that they are compatible for pc aswel. The sales person confirmed this and advised "yes they will work on Pc". We got them home and my son could not wait to unbox them. Immediately my son said he had audio through them but his mic was not working, I thought this was a fault with the headphones. I returned back to Smyths and spoke with another sales person explaining the issues I was having. He tested them on his mobile phone (not PC) and low and behold he got the microphone to work on his phone. The sales person said as the headphones were worker on his phone he was unable to offer any further assistance and stated that this would have to be done through Razer. Two so-called sales assistants down and still neither of them new anything regarding the products they are selling. I took them home and done some further research myself. A look on Google and I found that these headphones require an xbox one stereo adapter to allow them to work on Pc, something that was never picked up or advised by Smyths sales personnel. Took them back to Smyths and explained that I was sold these headphones as being compatible with Pc but was never advised you needed adapter as the sales assistants I previously dealt with did not know this. Full refund was given the third time round as I provided the evidence. What a pain...

Poor returns policy. Bought a digital dance mat for my kid from the website. When I got it out the box it was already scuffed in several places like it had been used and resold. We decided to return it because it actually boos at you when you get a dance move wrong! So I tried to return it as an unwanted item but they refused since it had been opened, even though it was in exactly the same condition as before I opened it. Decent shops would either give a refund or a credit note. So I've paid £25 for my kid to be booed at. Furthermore, there's something fishy about their product reviews. I bought the item because it had 4.9 out of 5 but I couldn't read any of the reviews - the link doesn't work. I thought it was a fault at my end but I've tried four different browsers on two devices and I can't see reviews for any product. Nor can I create a review for a product I've purchased. So who is writing all these reviews? Picking a few products at random, they all have nearly 5 stars. Very suspicious since it's mainly overpriced plastic tat. I'm never giving this company my money again.

A Nightmare Shopping Experience

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Smyths (Lakeside, Thurrock) that left me questioning their integrity and customer service. The store was advertising a seemingly attractive deal of "2 for 20" on Nintendo Switch games. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a disastrous shopping encounter. Upon reaching the cashier, my excitement quickly turned to frustration when one of the games rang up as £35 instead of the advertised £20. I approached Mia, the store manager, to address the issue. To my disbelief, she was not only rude and patronizing but also insinuated that my party had placed the "2 for 20" tag on the £35 game ourselves. How insulting and deceptive! What came next was even more shocking. Mia, in a move that reeks of unprofessionalism, surreptitiously removed the "2 for 20" label herself and attempted to act as if it had never been there. This blatant attempt to cover up their misleading pricing was nothing short of appalling. We were not looking for a handout or asking her to honor the deal; all we wanted was to be treated with respect. We had spent nearly £200 in that store, and Mia's treatment made us feel like criminals. It's disheartening to encounter a manager who not only lacks professionalism but also seems to have no regard for customer satisfaction. On a positive note, I must commend Laura, the cashier, who was a shining example of friendliness and helpfulness. In fact, I strongly believe that she would be a far more suitable candidate for the role of store manager, as opposed to Mia, who clearly lacks the necessary skills to handle customer interactions. In conclusion, my experience at Smyths (Lakeside, Thurrock) was marred by deceptive practices, disrespectful behavior from the manager, and an overall lack of professionalism. It's a shame that such a poorly managed establishment tarnishes the reputation of what could otherwise be a decent store. I would caution anyone considering a visit to this store to think twice before doing so.

I was distraught after not receiving my free smyths toy superstore catalouge. Every year me and my family search through our smyth toy superstore catalouges and select a few toys or accessories we would like for Christmas but this year we had to do everything digitally it was a mess! Using your catalouge is 10x better! The least you could do to keep me and my family shopping at your wonderful store is offer a voucher to us.

On 10th May 2023, I purchased a Joie ispin GTI car seat from Smyths, unit 5-9 Nuffeild rd, Poole Dorset. The car seat was demonstrated and installed also showing as compatible with a BMW X4. Once driving with the car seat installed, while the car seat was empty and did not yet had a baby in it, I noticed the car seat had a significant and dangerous amount of movement side to side. When driving around the roundabout the car seat moved to the side and took moments to return to be flat. This occurred during my third pregnancy and so I am very aware that no car seat should be dangerously and insecurely moving to this degree. The car seat was taken back to store the following day where the same installer, briefly looked at the fitted seat and merely stated as the green light is showing, the car seat must be safe. I advised that the seat was clearly faulty and no online video and reviews noted this level of movement. The installer was careless in her response and repeated if the green light shows on the car seat then there is no issue. A visual observation clearly shows the car seat has a large amount of rocking and so the green light is irrelevant a baby would be banging side to side in the faulty car seat. After receiving such a hostile response from the car installer (Hannah) at Smyth, I purchased from your online competitors, a maxi cost seat which works as expected with no rock and instability. On 6th aug 2023, following the recovery of a traumatic labour , I finally managed to return to Smyth to yet again advise the seat was faulty. Upon walking into the store, it was clear that the female staff member who witnessed me walking into the store with the car seta box was put out and that there would be no willingness to resolve my issue. Body language and whispering between staff members clearly showed me that assisting me would be an issue. Yet again, the same irrational cycle took place, the car seat was reinstalled and the car seat which rocks side to side with three points of joints after the iso fix wobbling dangerously, the care installer repeated the mantra if the green lights are on then its safe for a baby. I requested to speak to the store manager who advised that in store they would not be able to deal with my query and I should contact yourselves or Joi. I did not purchase the seat from Joi and under the Customer Rights Act 2015, it is Smyths that have a duty to issue a full refund based on a faulty item. I am both shocked and appalled at the lack of customer service at Poole Smyths. The staff did not display any form of professional judgment when clearly witnessing and huge health and safety issue with a car seat purchased from Smyths. The passive aggressive comments and lack of effort towards wanting to resolve my issue is not expected in retail. I would like to request a full refund for the car seta which I have evidenced in visual demonstrations on two occasions as faulty. I have subsequently removed Smyth from my baby wish list and will be utilising other retailer. This is totally disappointing.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I could not pick up my items on the stated day. I had to re order and had it delivered at my home.

Other shops online do keep online orders for more than 2 days why is yours different? It is just unfair and the returns policy is appaulling as well. This is my first time to shop with this shop online and I am sorry to say I am not happy at all. Thank you.

Had an order delayed and couldnt find a number at 1st. Called them and the customer service worker was polite and very helpful she tracked down my parcel witch was with the courier but it just seemed to be going around the depot with workers updating the tracking information but only ever said that they had it. 8 days they had my parcel at this point. My parcel arrived the day after I spoke with smyths toy superstore in time for Christmas so the issue is no longer valid.

Order just placed

Ive not too long placed an order with yourselves. It has been a nightmare trying to rectify a mistake with my delivery address. The order is going to the wrong address. I only noticed this once I had placed the order! Your website, customer service (found once I had finally tracked down a contact number) was unable to help. I have always ordered or bought from this store but no more. I will not be ordering again. It is much too stressful! I do the majority of my shopping on line. This is the worst website I have to deal with!
